As a member of New Berlin Fire Department Explorer Post 193, you have been issued a complete uniform and set of turnout gear. It is imperative that the equipment be kept in good condition, and used only for Post-related activities.
TURNOUT GEAR issued to you (including boots, jacket, helmet, pants, gloves and hood) shall be brought to each Explorer trainign event and taken back home by you for safe keeping. The equipment should not be used for non-training related activities (such as hunting, sledding, etc.). If you have any questions about proper times to use the turnout gear, please contact your Post Advisor, Bob Jeske (262-782-1198).
EXPLORER UNIFORMS consist of a blue uniform shirt, pants, blue T-shirt (with New Berlin Fire Department logo), jacket, and metal Explorer badge. The uniform should be worn only to Post trainings and events (such as Safety Saturday, parade participation, etc.). The badge should be kept on the uniform shirt or jacket (except while washing) and should not be displayed in any manner or form (such as in a wallet). The uniform should be worn only to Post-related events or at the request of the Post Advisor (or with permission of the Post Advisor).
Wearing any portion of the turnout gear or uniform for purposes other than described above can be construed as an attempt to impersonate an officer / fire department official. This will be cause for disciplinary action, including possible termination from the Post.
The Explorer Post Advisor should be contacted if you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy. (Bob Jeske can be reached at 262-782-1198)
All Explorer members receive a copy of this policy. The Explorer (and a parent if Explorer is under age 18) will sign an acknowledge of the uniform policy.
Uniform and turnout gear are property of the New Berlin Fire Department. Upon termination from the Post, uniform and turnout gear should be returned to the Post Advisor.
The Explorer uniform also consists of black belt and shoes/boots. These items are not issued by the Post, but are a required part of the uniform.
